Young peoples’ performances of the C S Lewis favourite The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe will be one of the highlights of Dronfield Arts Festival on Bank Holiday Monday (May 6).

The two shows will be performed by different principal casts from Drama Dronfield at the Civic Hall at 10.30am and 2.30pm.

Drama Dronfield is a non-profit drama group for young people between the ages of six and 14 which meets every Wednesday at St Andrews Church.

With a cast of more than 50, the show tells the dramatic story of children evacuated from their homes because of war, who then find their way into the frozen landscape of Narnia.

The group’s Julie Ballin said: “We are really pleased that we have been invited to perform our shows during the Dronfield Arts Festival. To ensure all the children have the opportunity of taking part we have two different main casts so please come and support both the children and the Barn’s Arts Festival.

“Each week at Drama Dronfield we learn about musical theatre, drama, singing and dancing. We also play drama games, have fun and make lots of noise!”

Tickets for The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe are £5 with all money raised going to The Barn’s funds.

Tickets can be purchased here or alternatively you can buy on the door.

There will be 2 shows 11am & 2.30pm
