About The Artist

Having studied art whilst at school Anne chose to train as a Chartered Physiotherapist but continued painting landscapes in pastel as a hobby.

In 1979 she moved to Sheffield to work at the newly opened Royal Hallamshire Hospital and later became involved with The Great Sheffield Art Show where she sold her first painting. This provided the motivation to try and generate some income through her art whilst at home with two small children.

Many years on, Anne still enjoys doing landscapes and flower paintings but discovered that she had a talent for representing animals in pastel. This now accounts for most of her commissioned work and is where her strength in careful observation lies.

A recent development has been to explore the world of still life and she is enjoying this new challenge.

She was delighted to support Dronfield Hall Barn right from its initial opening and has taken the opportunity to exhibit her work each November in the Courtyard Room, along with husband Chris (a woodturner) and other craftspeople.
