Write a poem about VE Day and show us your creative side!
Dronfield Arts Festival is celebrating VE Day by running a School Poetry Competition.
Imagine you were there to witness this historic day in 1945. How would you react? Who would you celebrate with? Did you fight in the war or lose someone and are remembering them while the whole country celebrates victory? Have you organised a street party where you live? There are endless possibilities – let VE Day inspire your poetry this year.
Please type your poem into a single sheet of the word document provided, to be eligible for entry into the competition. (Download Artwork File here)
All entries must be in before Friday 20th March 2020.
A winner and 2 runners up will be announced on Monday 27th April 2020 and the winning students presented with a prize. The winning poem will also be printed in the Dronfield Eye magazine, with an article and picture of the prizes being awarded.
All poems submitted for entry will be on display to the public in the Peel Centre from Monday 27th April, until after the festival weekend.
